The Spotlight
This week in The Spotlight we have J. Cole. He released his album Cole World: The Sideline Story just a few weeks ago (Sept 27) and it quickly has risen to the #1 selling album just recently. J. Cole is one of my favorite artists because he always find a good mix of rappin bout some regular life stories and then go off on a track like Workout or Gods Gift. Ultimately his albums always have a message when it comes to girls, hoes, guns or diamonds its all there but its usually positive and funny, but the biggest part for me is his music is relateable to most people i.e. things you see everyday. Lyrically hes one of the best dudes out right now and has a diff flow from most rappers. If you have never heard any of his stuff check the links for some of his latest music and a couple classic freestyles. His Any Given Sunday Mixtape series leading up to the album is a great way to get introduced to his music.
